Heavy Duty Mechanic/3rd or 4th yr apprentice will be considered

Responsibilities

AMPS currently has a full-time position for a Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic in Leduc AB. 

Successful applicants will be based out of our shop in Leduc and completing fieldwork in the construction and oil & gas industries throughout Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

 Tasks and duties will include but are not limited to:

• Perform preventative and scheduled maintenance on diesel generators

• Operate and inspect diesel generators to diagnose defects

• Helps troubleshoot problems in the field on diesel generators with clients

• Communicates with supervisor on day-to-day activities both in the field & shop

• Verifies all final inspections to make sure diesel generator repairs have been completed

Requirements

Heavy Duty Mechanics with diesel power generation experience, are considered an asset but not required.

• Valid driver’s license • Clean drivers abstract an asset, must be insurable

• Must have own transportation, company vehicle not provided for personal use • Strong communication skills and problem-solving capabilities

• Must be able to perform your role without direct supervision

• Expected to maintain a clean and organized work space and service truck

2nd, 3rd or 4th-year apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all equipment is continually maintained to the highest standard, and in a timely manner, resulting in proper function and availability.
  • Operate diesel generators and their control systems to diagnose faults.
  • Work in the field or shop to complete preventative repairs and services.
  • Communicate with supervisor on day-to-day activities both in the field & shop.
  • Complete emergency repairs under pressure in any weather conditions.
  • Ability to reliably document failures and repairs.
  • Expected to maintain a clean and organized workspace and service truck
     
Requirements

Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanics with diesel power generation experience, are considered an asset but not required.

  • Engine rebuild experience is an asset but not required
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Clean drivers abstract an asset, and must be insurable
  • Must have own transportation, company vehicle not provided for personal use
  • Strong communication skills and problem-solving capabilities
  • Must be able to perform your role without direct supervision
  • Must provide own tools, basic and diagnostic. Specialty engine tools will be provided.
  • Must be able to pass random drug and alcohol testing
  • Safety Certificates are an asset but not required. (First aid, WHIMIS, H2S, CSTS, etc…)
  • Must be able to provide proof of vaccination
